The ability to deliver uninterrupted power to our customers equipment no matter the extend of power interruptions in the public power grid is a mandatory requirement for all of Solido Hostings locations. All of our data centers have been developed to guarantee a 99,999% uptime for critical equipment.
Interxion offers three different service levels for the delivery of power: Basic, Standard and Advanced. Solido Hosting base all their solutions on Advanced Power and further more add our own redundant Source Transfer Switches which ensures that power will be maintained to all servers even when one of the feeds from the data center experience a power loss.
It is essential for optimal uptime that there is a continuous power feed to both power supplies in servers even if one power supply is down. If you only supply continuous power to one power supply, you have a higher risk for downtime if one of the servers power supplies is non functional. With redundant Source Transfer Switches, you ensure that you always have power for the server even if you have a failing power supply while the power sources experiences down time.
Power From the Grid
DONG delivers the power to the data center in Ballerup through four 2.5 megawatt connections.
Power Generators
Power generators in the data center have been installed using the N+1 redundancy principle, which means that for N generators that's needed to cover the data center during a power failure from the grid, there is one extra generator installed.
Power generators are constantly on "hot standby" so they are able to quickly deliver power in case of a power failure. With a guaranteed storage of diesel for a minimum of 24 hours of service, and with contracts for quick delivery of diesel, the generators can deliver power as long as it is necessary.
Until the generators are running at full capacity (before 60 seconds), the UPS-system delivers the necessary power. The generators are tested regularly to ensure that they remain fully functional.
